The 2012 ICETE Global Triennial Consultation in Nairobi considered the theme Rooted in the Word, Engaged in the World. Three years late in Turkey, this Consultation responded critically to two fundamental questions: even if we are rooted and engaged, how do we know that we are effective in accomplishing our mission? How might we measure the impact of theological education on both Church and Society?

The ICETE Manifesto on the Renewal of Evangelical Theological Education affirms “Our theological programmes must become manifestly of the church, through the church and for the church.” However, in many cases theological education empowers only elite, and not all the people of God.

In reality, there remains a divide between those who serve in full-time or formal ministry, and those who seek to serve faithfully in “secular” positions. How should theological educators address this Sacred-Secular Divide? Are we equipping our students with the right worldview and tools in order for them to truly equip their church members for an effective service in all areas of life)? What can we learn from one another as we share our global collective wisdom on bridging the Sacred-Secular Divide?

    • You will have the option to pay 50% of your total when you register and pay the remaining 50% by 1 Feb 2018
    • Spouses who register together will only pay a single conference registration fee. Spouses who register together after 1 February will each pay a registration fee.

We have secured a special all-inclusive rate for the hotel during the time of our conference. The rate is $125 per person per night in a double room, and $150 per person per night in a single room. This rate includes 5-star accommodation and all food and non-alcoholic beverages during the conference. In addition, the hotel is willing to extend a special rate for up to 3 days prior to the consultation and 3 days after the consultation. For $150 per person in a double room or $200 per person in a single room, you may come early or stay after the event to enjoy the beautiful venue. With this special conference rate, you will also enjoy the same all-inclusive meals we offer during the consultation. This rate is only available through our event: if you book on your own the all-inclusive rate is $400 per person. ***Please note that there is no discounted day rate available for the conference. If you choose to stay elsewhere, you will be responsible for your own lodging, meals, and transportation.***
