Our Mission:

I - What Does ACTEA Do?

Since its inception, ACTEA offers services categorized into two areas: academic accreditation and support and networking.

In its accreditation services, ACTEA offers academic accreditation at the post-graduate, the post-secondary, and the secondary levels, in order to stimulate the improvement and standardization of such programmes, and in order to secure academic recognition for such programmes wherever possible.

In its support and networking services, ACTEA serves as a medium for the promotion of inter-institutional and inter-continental collaborations and offering of capacity-building workshops and resources.

ACTEA continues to serve theological institutions in Africa, by operating in ways that it is answerable to its constituency.  In this regard, ACTEA serves as a mentoring body and an internal, constructive catalyst for the strengthening and renewal of its institutions.  It is fully owned by its key stakeholders - the African churches and their theological institutions.

Further, ACTEA is committed to the renewal of theological education in Africa. To that end ACTEA has endorsed the ICETE Manifesto on the renewal of Evangelical Theological Education, and through its various programmes and standards seeks to promote the affirmations of that document for the development of theological education in Africa.
